KAYAK’s top tips for finding a cheap flight from Louisville to London

  • Most carriers operating flights from Louisville International Airport (SDF) to London Heathrow (LHR) have a single stopover. American Airlines stop at Boston Logan (BOS), O'Hare Intl Airport (ORD), or Charlotte Douglas Airport (CLT), while United connects via Dulles Airport (IAD). If you wish to land at London Gatwick (LGW), you might have two stopovers at Atlanta Airport (ATL) and John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK).
  • Suppose your physique prevents you from sitting in a single seat. You can get more personal space for better comfort while on the route SDF-IAD-FRA-LCY, often operated by Lufthansa. Consider reserving an empty adjacent seat with the airline. However, you can only pay the extra fee at the check-in counter on your departure date.
  • You only need a visa to fly to London if you plan to stay in the United Kingdom for over six months. You'll get a visa vignette or sticker on your passport at the airport's immigration office. To extend your business trip or vacation for another six months, complete the UK visa renewal form, pay the applicable fees, and book an appointment at any UKVCAS office for biometrics.
  • British Airways is one of the best airlines for wheelchair users. If you have a mobility issue, you can specify the type of assistance you need when booking your flight. Special assistance includes basic wheelchair assistance and full-service- luggage storage and retrieval, boarding and alighting the aircraft, and chair aid to move around the cabin.
  • Children through age 17 are automatically subject to unaccompanied minor protocols, and the standard unaccompanied minor fee is charged where applicable. With United Airlines, the service is available for kids between 5 and 14 and is optional for the age bracket 15-17. When booking tickets for kids traveling alone, inform the airline who will drop them off at SDF and pick them up from the arrival airport in London.

Your flight delayed at Heathrow n I almost missed my mother funeral.you idiots. I had to waste 10 hours in different airports. Thank your stars I'm not suing you.

Miami airport needs more thorough signage. It was a long walk from my transport point to the check in desk,

Flight took off an hour late. Had to stay on the tarmac for half an hour after landing. Both annoying.

We had an unfortunate experience where we had to leave the aircraft after boarding, shortly before the scheduled takeoff time, and re-board. The reason given was that a passenger felt ill and had to cancel their plans and therefor their luggage had to be found and removed.

We’ve used VA before many times the experience is always been good they have lovely staff and the food is always delicious.

Everything about the flight was amazing from check in to boarding entertainment was okay food we didn’t try.

Seats were old and dirty, for a long haul flight you expect to be able to recline and for the av to work properly. Choice for vegans was fruit….

The Virgin Atlantic crew was very good. However, the equipment was OK, the seats were OK, but her bags did not arrive with me. Two bags showed up a day later and I’m still waiting for my third back.

The crew was very good. However, the equipment was a bit dated. Some of the electronics were not working. To top it, three bags didn’t arrive with me. Two of them were delivered a day later. I’m still waiting for the third bag, I was so looking forward to this virgin Atlantic flight, but, I am disappointed.

I don’t understand why a reputable airline like BA would delegate their London flights to AA. Makes no sense to me, as most domestic carriers do such a poor job these days. Terminal 3 at LHR is a total dump

Cancelled flight minutes before boarding. Rescheduled flight was two days later

The flight attendants were EXTREMELY personable and appreciated the service, lights going off after dinner (probably the norm, but I haven’t flown evening overnight flights in a while). Thank you!

Business class seats were very dated on my plane. Very little storage, charging ports were not easily accessible, tv screen kept flopping away. Vegetarian food was disappointing: hardly any protein and severely under-seasoned. Crew was lovely.

The food was ok, but not great. They delayed boarding in Portland and did not enforce group boarding. But the crew was excellent, went above and beyond.

The food was pathetic. There wasn't much leg room and recline space for such a long flight. No tea/ coffee for a 2-3 hour connecting flight without purchasing! Really!?

Service was very good. Because I use a cane, I was allowed to use Priority Boarding. Biggest problem was extremely limited leg room in Economy class seats. For airplane food, it was alright.

Was late but that airport/storm fault. Flight was full but comfortable. Food quite nice. Unfortunate that I had a rather miserable attendant, others were much friendlier

Experience was good. Could have been better if we didn’t have to board an hour before the flight to ghana and miss relaxing time in the lounge. That process was very stressful

I was charged fees for check in bags at the airport by British Airways. It was supposed to be no charge but Kayak messed up my booking apparently and I had to pay for check in bags. I paid $175.
