FAQs - booking La Palma flights

  • Where do flights stop between London and La Palma?

Ryanair and Easyjet flights usually stop in Tenerife at Granadilla Tenerife-Sur Airport (TFS). Flights also sometimes stop at other nearby islands like La Palmas de Gran Canaria (LPS) or in major European cities that operate as hubs for your chosen airline. Flights with two stopovers usually stop in Madrid (MAD) and Gran Canaria (LPA).

  • Which London Airport is the most convenient?

Overall Heathrow Airport (LHR) will likely be the most convenient. It's the closest airport to London city centre. If you take the Heathrow Express, it only takes roughly 15 minutes to get from Paddington Station to the Airport. If you prefer flying with higher-cost airlines, Heathrow is usually the best option. Most flights between Heathrow and La Palma are operated by Swiss Airlines (with one stop in Zurich) or Iberian Airlines (with one stop in Madrid). These airlines usually have more generous baggage allowances than budget airlines so you won't have to worry about packing super light.

  • Which airports in London are best for cheaper flights from London to Los Plamas?

National Express buses for both airports depart from London Victoria. easyBus departs from London Victoria for Gatwick and Baker Street for Stansted. The trip takes around 30 minutes for Gatwick and around 50 minutes for Stansted.

  • Do I need to bring a booster seat for my child?

Spain requires that children under 12 must use a booster or child seat in the backseat of a car. Most car hire companies at La Palma Airport can provide booster seats for children, toddlers and babies. These may incur an extra fee or they may be included in the price. Taxis are exempt from this law, though some may have disposable seats available. If you are planning on taking a taxi and want your child to travel in a booster seat you will need to bring one with you.

Flight from Costa Rica to Madrid was excellent. Good food and service. The flight from Madrid to Brussels was very poor . No food , no entertainment, no usb … Total package was quite expensive so you should give same service on the second flight

Flight from Costa Rica to Madrid was excellent. Good food and service. The flight from Madrid to Brussels was very poor . No food , no entertainment, no usb … Total package was quite expensive so you should give same service on the second flight

We travelled with Level, which is a subsidiary of Iberia. They mixed up all our seats, downgraded few from premium economy fo economy. The crew were not professional, they seem to be in a rush! Also some with an attitude

business class food was pretty average otherwise it was a good experience

Everything OK , except the plane left more than an hour late so I couldn’t participate in an excursion I had that morning in Brcelona

Flight from Madrid to Dakar had no onboard entertainment for a business class. Not even a single screen . That was disappointing. The WiFi only worked for the first 45 mins of the flight.

I paid to upgrade to Business Class. The queue to check in at the Business Class aisle was full of people without Business Class tickets, the fast-track immigration line was “closed” but the representative opened it up for his friends, regardless (there was a lot of fist-bumping), and the lounge was an absolute mess…..4 staff sitting playing with their phones while every table had dirty plates and glasses waiting to be cleared…..and the least said about the rude lady on the reception desk at the lounge , the better!

Great flight, short and good attention. Didn't took any food so can't say thing about it

A 13 hour flight with no food apart from what they offered from a menu you had to pay for. On top of that, there were no blankets, so during the flight when the cabin temperature dropped, everyone was very cold. Neither of these things were highlighted at the time of booking. This is the worst long-haul flight I’ve ever encountered.

Horrible. Paid for seats for my family. Iberia changed planes and never notified us that the seats we paid extra for did not even exist on the plane. We were randomly placed on the plane. Thankfully, we were seated together. Upon boarding, my youngest daughter was pulled from the line and they just arbitrarily changed her seat 7 rows back from the rest of the family. I had to wait at the gate while they tried to see us back together. One of the most uncomfortable small spaces on a plane I’ve ever experienced. When I called Iberia, they first told me that no mistake was made that the plane was never changed. Yet my receipt for my paid seats were for rows that did not even exist on this type of plane we were getting on. They said that they would reimburse my money and I would get an email, but I’ve never received any information or emails regarding a refund for the seats that I had paid extra for. Then when we arrived in Madrid, one of the pieces of luggage that we had checked in was damaged to the point that the handle that was stowed in to the luggage was broken off by the crew members handling the luggage. The crew on the plane was very nice, but as far as the rest of the experience, I would be very hesitant to ever use Iberia again.

Bad business class. Staff totally not helping. Lights and chargers not working

The 737-8 is too small for the length of flight especially if there are any delays

The flight was delayed over 2 hours, we should off left the plane2 late passengers as it’s not fair on everyone who’s followed the rules.

Dreamliner. Yes great if maintained. I didn't see anyones screen work consistently during either of our flights. Worse was their ability to not only dump you out of premium but separate couples and seat someone's carer at the opposite end of the aircraft. This poor gentleman had no hand so his partner who assists him, being seated at the other end of the aircraft, well that really showed us all what Tui think :( It was fairly dire all in all, they advertise all the perks of the dreamliner only in reality you don't have the features and they change the windows and colours to suit their constant sales pitches. Ironically they were so low on stock for the return flight that all their sales pitches were a waste of time! Their contract only favours them and 'operational changes' well they cover every excuse and Tui use it. Surprisingly we haven't reinstalled the Tui app or booked with them since. It's a shame as I rated them highly during the pandemic.

One flight attendant not wearing a mask over nose, 50% of passengers not either, and no effort to correct. Boarding was very late with no information - lots of standing around waiting.
