The representative at the car rental desk gave us wrong information. She told us that the price we paid at the counter included the price of the rental car. However, when I later reviewed the bill, I discovered that the price we paid at the counter was for an insurance package only, and that we were ALSO charged separately for the rental. This doubled the price, making it a disastrous purchase. I feel I was cheated into something I did not agree to.

I picked the wrong time based on incorrect recollection of when we were supposed to land, but it was required to wait until that time (two hours later) to pick up my rental. There was no previous walk around and I discovered a couple of rock strikes after I drove out of the facility. Fortunately they were rather small and there was no charge for them, but I was worried about it. Otherwise, the car I ended up with (Dodge Durango), which was not the one I reserved (Toyota Corolla), was quite satisfactory and even got respectable mileage (over 25 mpg). So I was pleased. There was a little difference in the ride, however, as the Durango is built on a truck chassis and it is a bit stiffer than a sedan.

Car was very comfortable, clean , more than enough power, pick up was sooo easy, drop off a little disappointing as there were no persons on the counter and we really wanted to know about the deposit return. In the end we had to drop the key and run for our boarding, but was sorted very easy next day by phone call.

Pros:

We were picked up at the airport (you have to call them and they will be there within minutes). The collection process was really quick and easy. The staff was excellent and showed us quickly the specifics of the car (which by the way was upgraded). We were offer onsite to reduce the Excess to 0 or to £100, we chose the latter which was ~£50 extra for the 3 days we rented the vehicle. The drop-off process was very easy and quick too! we got another ride to the airport from there. FYI, they took £300 deposit from the credit card which will be refunded after you return your car and they check everything is OK.

We were over the 2 hour pickup window due to a rail delay. Hertz gave away our car (an automatic that I paid $200 extra for in Scotland). Only car left was a stick shift...fine I’ll drive a stick!! But no reduction of price !!!

Car upgrade due to Easter. Staff was very friendly. Car was in excellent condition.

Had to wait for about 30 mins at the airport for the pick-up of the car.

Pros:

Pickup was easy and convenient.

Cons:

My flight cancelled 10 hours prior to dept. I had to drop the car off at a new airport. I had one hell of a time figuring out how to get a hold of Avis to do this as the internet option told me I had to call someone. It took 30+ minutes to get a note in my res. Not even sure it was done right.

Pros:

Car In excellent condition. Low mileage, excellent mpg and added unexpected benefit of Android Auto which was very useful. Friendly staff.

Cons:

Slight mix up on pick up but didn't matter and sorted out. I prefer full to full fuel rather than trying to guess how much to get back to original reading.

Excellent experience. The only problem was changing my pickup and dropoff Times, because I prepaid through KAYAK. I suspect at a larger airport, with more cars this would have been easier. The staff tried hard to make my change possible.

Besides being expensive, we told them what time we were dropping the car back off and they never mentioned they’d be closed so we had no shuttle to the airport and we had to walk with all of our baggage from Sixt to the airport on dark unlit streets in a foreign country. Very dissatisfied. They also did not have the car they repeatedly told us they’d have. We reserved a small SUV and they offered us a sedan or a slightly larger SUV. Of course there was an up charge for the suv so we got stuck in a sedan for the trip.

Sixt rental in Inverness airport looked after us very well. The shuttle picked us up at the terminal building, the driver was extremely friendly as were the office staff. The car was good looking, clean and pleasure to drive. They offered me an automatic transmission which I appreciated. Drop-off was straightforward with a key dropbox in the terminal building. Returning the car with a full tank of fuel was tricky as the nearest gas station was some distance away.
