FAQs - booking Kerala flights

  • Where do flights between London and Kerala stop?

You will have lots of options for different stopover airports, depending on which airport you are flying into and which airline you're flying with. Flights to Kannur operated by Air India usually stop at Mumbai Airport and also often have an additional stop in Kozhikode. Flights to Kochi that aren't direct most often stop in Dublin with Aer Lingus and Abu Dhabi with Etihad. Flights to Kozhikode generally stop in Mumbai or New Delhi.

  • Will I be able to use lounges during my stopovers?

If you'd like to make sure you can stay in a lounge during your stopovers then you should consider the routes that stop in Mumbai or New Delhi. You will most likely be flying for at least part of your trip with Air India and they have lounges at both airports. New Delhi Airport also has a hotel in the terminal where passengers with long stopovers can get some rest.

  • Do I need a visa to visit Kerala from London?

If you have a UK passport you will need a visa. You may need to head to a visa processing centre in the UK to get one. E-visas are available but not every visa/traveller is approved for an e-Visa. A tourist visa usually allows you to stay for 30 days to start with and may then be extended. You will also need to have a machine-readable passport.

  • Do I need a booster seat for my child in Kerala?

There are no specific laws around booster seats for children in India. If your child currently uses one at home and you would like them to use one on your trip, the best thing to do will be to bring your own. Most airlines flying between London and Kerala will let you add a booster seat to your checked luggage for no extra cost. Car hire companies may have them available at the airport. Book your hire car ahead of time to make sure.

  • How does KAYAK find such low prices on flights from London to Kerala?

KAYAK is a travel search engine. That means we look across the web to find the best prices we can find for our users. With over 2 billion flight queries processed yearly, we are able to display a variety of prices and options on flights from London to Kerala.

  • How does KAYAK's flight Price Forecast tool help me choose the right time to buy my flight ticket from London to Kerala?

KAYAK’s flight Price Forecast tool uses historical data to determine whether the price for a flight to Kerala from London is likely to change within 7 days, so travelers know whether to wait or book now.

  • What is the Hacker Fare option on flights from London to Kerala?

Hacker Fares allow you to combine one-way tickets in order to save you money over a traditional return ticket. You could then fly to Kerala with an airline and back to London with another airline.

  • What is KAYAK's "flexible dates" feature and why should I care when looking for a flight from London to Kerala?

Sometimes travel dates aren't set in stone. If your preferred travel dates have some wiggle room, flexible dates will show you all the options when flying to Kerala from London up to 3 days before/after your preferred dates. You can then pick the flights that suit you best.

Top tips for finding a cheap flight from London to Kerala

  • On average*, there is no price difference when choosing to fly in the morning or the evening on this flight route.
  • The state of Kerala has three main airports. Kochi Airport (COK) serves the central southern cities of Kochi, Kollam, and Thrissur. Kannur serves the northern cities of Kannur, Payyanur and Kozhikode. Thiruvananthapuram airport (TRV) serves the southernmost part of the state and is closest to the border with Tamil Nadu.
  • Most flights to Kannur depart from Heathrow Airport (LHR). They are usually operated by Air India and include one to two stops along the way.
  • You can find flights to Kochi Airport at all of London's major airports. Heathrow is the only airport that frequently offers direct flights. These are usually run by Air India. Connecting flights are usually operated by Aer Lingus and Etihad Airways.
  • Kozhikode does have its own airport but flights here aren't as common. They can, however, be less expensive than those arriving at Kannur Airport (CNN). As both routes include at least one stop, you can choose between them based on price and which is closer to your final destination.
  • Flights to Thiruvananthapuram Airport most commonly include one stop. Most flights are operated by Air India but you can also find flights operated by Oman Air. Oman Air generally stops in Muscat while Air India frequently stops in New Delhi.

Customer service was exceptional. I heard it wasn’t a great airline, my opinion has changed after flying with them

I was amazed at how clean Cathay Pacific planes were compared to our US domestic airlines. Everything was great all but the food service I was just okay with. Shorter flights with other airlines usually provided more meals and snacks that I have been on. Almost a 16 hour flight just two meals and no snacks with Cathay Pacific. Even ran out of what I wanted for one of them. Other than that top notch!

As a solo traveller, I always prefer to have an aisle seat, but the flight was so full, there weren’t any available. I understand that the seatbelt sign sometimes has to go on if turbulence is anticipated but after the second food service, it was on continuously for about an hour and a half and there didn’t seem to be any turbulence at all! With seats reclined, my fellow passenger in the aisle seat asleep and the seatbelt sign on I felt very trapped, extremely uncomfortable and in desperate need of the bathroom. The positives were that the staff were very friendly, the entertainment was great and we actually took off on time and arrived in HKG earlier than expected.

For a transpacific flight, flying economy is awful! The seats are cramped and its meant for petite folks! Good luck if you have long legs. BOARDING - AWFUL, we got to Hong Kong - the gate was listed, but upon arrival, there was a MESS of boarding procedures, they basically DIY'ed how to board but making three lines and putting three ground crew to check for passports in the terminal area. THEN to make it worse, after going through that cattle process, all of a sudden you see people standing and looking confused, apparently we were told to get in line to board, but the AV notification wasnt even working. So people started cramming in line - worse than cattle. One saving point, the flight crew forgot to serve me dinner and after waiting for it, I fell asleep since this was a midnight flight. After letting a crew know that I was forgotten, all of my meals were served first !!! Yay for being in the economy seats! Nothing much to write home about once more!

Bathroom was not cleaned as often as other airlines does. It was gross for a less than full flight capacity.

Rarely saw a flight attendant. Never received what I wanted from drink service. Twice I was told they would return with my order. I never saw the flight attendant again. I has requested a Moslem meal. I did not receive. It

The crew is amazing, very attentive. They went above and beyond when we had a small spill. the food on this trip was not nearly as good as other Cathay flights. The economy seats are very comfortable, but when the person in front of yo reclines, you need to recline to see your screen or be comfortable.

From Chicago to Hong Kong was great., but from Hong Kong to manila we had hard time looking for the gate of our connecting flight. There wasn’t hardly any sign.

Cathay Pacific helps me with the planning due to weather delays. Well planed flights.

Flight crew went above and beyond to make sure the flight was enjoyable for us!

Chinese flight attendants didn't speak english well. They didn't care enough to remember that I (east asian who isn't Chinese) wasn't Chinese and spoke English. Announcement in english on board was poor and I find it very difficult to understand what was announced. Also, a cabin bag allows only 5kg!

Chinese flight attendants didn't speak english well. They didn't care enough to remember that I (east asian who isn't Chinese) wasn't Chinese and spoke English. Announcement in english on board was poor and I find it very difficult to understand what was announced.

Everything was not satisfactory - the flight was delayed, staffs were ok but they didn't speak English well. I am from east Asia (not Chinese) and they didn't care enough to remember that I wasn't Chinese but persistently spoke chinese to me. The flight announcement in english wasn't clear to understand.

I wish I had been able to choose a vegetarian meal. Crew friendly and helpful. Seat was ok. All quite efficient and pleasant. Would recommend for inner China travel for sure.

The flight is not bad, but the Business Lounge is not big enough for the quantity of people they accept and there is a limited options for food and beverages.

It was simply bad and on top of that my luggage hasn't been delivered until now. They can't even localize it which is just unacceptable when they are supposed to scan the bar code they put when we check in

We bought premium Economy, thinking it would be more comfortable, but the seat is so narrow ,that my legs and feet are swollen , I can't wear shoes !

The flight was delayed for almost 5 hours, but I understand that it was not up to the company, however how they could handle the situation better, they never apologized for that delay, moreover despite passengers being there for 7 hours only thing they did was to give a bowl of instant noodles, afterwards on the plane tiny snacks, people were there starting from lunch time and we’ve arrived to destination at almost midnight

Flight was delayed for 2 hours for no reason, then we spent almost an hour after boarding because of the weather conditions. If we left on time we could avoid that 😾

Cons: "Everything was great. Very nice and friendly crew, clean plane, great food. Excellent overall"

Our check-in was mediocre. We were told that we didnt have access to the lounge although we were in business and we were asked to remove 1kg from each of our checked luggages as they had 21 kgs and we found out that our tickets were for 20kgs checked bags. I would have expected: 1 - more clarity on the website so that I could see the difference on fares and be able to buy tickets with more checked luggage kgs allowance, and lounge access, and 2- more flexibility for business class passengers.

On the flight back the seats where very uncomfortable, they where so bad that my back started to hurt after the first 2 hours. I can sit in a wooden chair for 2 hours. But these where just horrible, it just shows how cheap the airline has become. And the cabin was heated all those people in a heated cabin during a night flight. It was clear the climate control was not working. To top that off you are not even offered a glass of water, these people are animals.

We purchased a Go First Pass for 10 Euros each so we could board first, but everyone was able to board at the same time so we wasted 20 Euros. The flight left ab out 15 minutes late and was not allowed to land at Healthrow so we had to circle Heathrow for about 45 minutes. This caused us to almost miss our flight from Heathrow to Atlanta.

Severely delayed with no notice. Could have arrived at the airport hours later had we been informed of the delay

Once the boarding sign went on and all passengers gathered in line, we were left waiting standing up for almost an hour because there was a delay.

It would be nice to have vegan options for meals. The entertainment was not working on the the way to Austria. It was only available near the end of flight to Canada. The service was excellent.

Flight was delayed by approx 1 hour. The boarding process and the flight itself were very good, slightly tight squeeze for my legs but overall happy.

The business class layout on this plane is tightly packed and atrocious with no sense of privacy.

Flight was meant to leave at 8:30pm but there was a 2 hour delay 😞

Airmalta does not include meals in their flights and neither offers entertainment.

I was hesitant to book with a low cost airline due to previous experience but Easy Jet surpassed my expectations. I would definitely book a flight with them again! Seemless booking, upfront about baggage fees, professional, and helpful staff.

Kayak sent several notifications that the flight was late. This contradicted the information on the airport boards. This was extremely confusing and we very nearly missed the flight purely because we double checked with the info desk when the flight stays said’closed’. Kayak notifications are therefore unreliable and pointlesa

Usual issues with flight delay. Perennial problem of travel by plane.

i didnt go this was a hacker booked this flight on my debit card !

Delayed almost 2 hours sitting on plane. No updates at all from flight deck and virtually no updates from cabin crew

Long delay resulted in my being unable to catch a train home and resulted in an additional £76 cost for an Uber

I was charged at the gate for bags I had already paid for. There was no other option. I am trying diligently thought easyJet website but making no progress HELP!

Be sure to check bags for 23 kg,.(50 lbs) Coming from US I chose the wrong size luggage weight when I checked in on my phone, and had to pay more when I dropped it off

The flight was delayed for over 1 hour. The boarding process is appalling making you wait for 30 minutes in the passage leading to the outside door without any seats.

The on board air steward really made the journey. He was very entertaining

The seats of the Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner were ridiculously uncomfortable. I was on 10 flights during this vacation and this plane was super uncomfortable both times I was on one whereas all of the others were perfectly fine. Additionally, these planes do not have any air vents that passengers can control, the climate is entirely controlled by the crew which made for an extremely uncomfortable temperature for the duration. The flight attendants tried to make everyone happy with the temperature but several people you could tell were excessively warm and just wanted a bit of airflow.

Everything was fine except not posting the gate number until 14 minutes before boarding. In an airport the size of Heathrow, that was unacceptable.

We already had a five hour layover in London, and then they cancelled our flight about half hour before we were due to board. They wouldn't give us access to the lounge and hanging around the extremely busy terminal for another three hours until our next flight was crappy. 8 hours in a busy terminal is awful. The least they could have done was give us access to one of their quiet, comfortable lounges for the inconvenience. I heard from others that they do this a lot -- cancel these short flights if they're not completely full. When we got onto the next flight it was absolutely packed and uncomfortable. Just very disappointing. British Airways used to be a great airline to fly with, but it doesn't feel that way at all now.

Don't fly thru London Awful and huge U need 4 hrs to transfer cuz u have to tale buses to and fro from airplanes Bad business

Staff with low service level, forgetful. Temperature at 15 C and after asking twice to raise the temperature the crew did nothing.

They took good care of me on the plane and had it not been for handicap assistance I would definitely had missed my connecting flight . Not BA fault but The airport security instead . Two hours is way too long for security

The least comfortable business class seat I have encountered for a while - very very firm when reclined making sleeping difficult. Cost cutting is visible everywhere - no offer to refill drinks (the wines were not good - so no real issue there :) ) Just not worth what BA charge

old seat need to go! outdated and uncomfortable. I waited 40 minutes for my bag

They had about 20-25 people overbooked. Including me. Why is this?? I was put on a flight to NC an hour later with a 4 hour layover. I was supposed to be home at 1045am instead i was home at 7:30pm. An extra day to pay for dog care.

Boarding is not controlled as groups called was not enforced
