Top tips for finding cheap flights to Hungary

  • Enter your preferred departure airport and travel dates into the search form above to unlock the latest Hungary flight deals.
  • If you’re mindful of the carbon emissions that you’ll emit when flying to Hungary from the UK, you’ll be able to find flights that operate using less CO2 per passenger. You can grab direct flights with Ryanair from London Stansted Airport (STN) to Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (BUD) that emit 63% less CO2 than your average flight, reducing it by about 441 kg per person.
  • Many visitors to Hungary want to tick the infamous Buda Castle off their bucket list. If you fly via the Budapest-FerencLiszt International Airport (BUD), you’ll be placed just 19 miles (30 km) away. There’s a bus that departs from Budapest Airport Train Station every 15 minutes that goes directly to the landmark, and surrounding hotels.
  • If you’re travelling on a budget, then check out flights with Ryanair flying out of London Stansted Airport to Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport, while Wizz Air UK also operates cheap flights out of London Luton Airport (LTN) to Budapest. If you’re flying from Manchester Airport (MAN), Ryanair also runs cheap flights, while from Glasgow Airport (GLA), you can fly with Ryanair via Dublin Airport (DUB).
  • If you are Muslim or practise an alternative faith to Christian, you will possibly require a religious-based meal on your flight to Hungary. While most commercial airlines stock good choices of alternative meals, the smaller, economy airlines do not. On the journey to Hungary you can find Jain, Halal, Muslim and Kosher meals with British Airways, but they must be ordered 24 hours in advance.
  • A convenient way to get to Budapest city centre from Ferenc Liszt Airport is an airport taxi, but naturally, it’s more expensive than other options. We recommend taking the 100E Bus from outside the terminal, which doesn’t take much longer than the taxi and can drop you off in the city centre within 35-45min, at a cost of about Ft900 (£2.10).
  • If you are travelling with children to Hungary and plan on renting a car at the airport, your car hire company will be obligated to ensure you have a car seat for the child. It is law in Hungary for children under 150 cm to be seated in the appropriate-sized seat and all car hire companies do stock them, so you do not have to take one on the plane with you during your trip.
  • Should you want to reach other parts of Hungary with little fuss, such as Debrecen, you can fly from London Luton Airport or Glasgow Airport on flights with two stopovers, operated by Wizz Air UK and Ryanair. However, a better way to get to Debrecen is by train from Budapest Ferenc Liszt Airport, it only takes around 2h 30min and costs only about Ft4,350 (£10).
  • Budapest-Ferenc Liszt International Airport is one of the largest and busiest airports in the country. As well as a wide variety of flight options, here you can find useful services which may be beneficial to your trip, including various places to eat, a large selection of shops and other facilities such as a currency-exchange office and car hire desks.

Although the flight was delayed for more than 2 hours, no refreshments were offered (according to EU regulations). Last 4 flights on KLM - always at least 2 hrs late. We left one hour late because of technical difficulties. The economy comfort seats are great for the price. The crew was mediocre, they do not provide a pleasant experience, they just deliver food and drinks and give orders, not very amicable, no service and hospitality focus.

Booked connecting flights with KlM. My serving flight was the furthest part of the airport. On arrival in Zurich. My two cases arrived but only one carry on belong to my son. His three suitcase didn't arrive. After enquiring we discovered they were still in Amsterdam. We landed at 11.12. We eventually left the airport just after one.

I thought KLM was the best airline but the Lima - Amsterdam was 1 hours late, the Brussels - Amsterdam was 2.30 hours late and the Amsterdam - Lima was 30 minutes late

Mostly fine. Minor delays departing and arriving. Quite a cramped plane, not so much as regards legroom but very narrow seats. Quiet nice food. Non-working USB charger. Flight attendants were helpful but not particularly proactive — one had to work to get their attention (but all was fine once they notice you), very Dutch style:)

I travel frequently. The flight was late again... KLM should really try and be on time

The flight itself it was great nice food the crew were very nice and helpful, Checking in from Birmingham wasn't great long queues for bag dropped, And I had my hand luggage case taken away from me even though I requested to have it with me as I had breakables items. I was told I can not because of the length of the flight with no explanation at all no options was given for me to take my fragile items out of my case it was taken away with hold buggage I find the staff member who was checking me in very unpleasant !! Can we please be advise if the rules have changed about the the carry on hand luggage it will be easier to be advise on booking your tickect if we not allowed to take the hand luggage with me. Overall I had a good flight .

The food quality is poor. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The entertainment program was limited. I experienced a delay of 30 minutes due to two issues. Passenger luggage had to be removed and there was a technical issue with the stairs not detaching from the aircraft. The pilot managed to compensate and we arrived only 15 minutes later. The luggage at Dubai airport was very slow. I waited over an hour.

I requested wheel chair assistance , it was confirmed via email that inwoood get it but I didn’t get it . The last leg of my trip to Nigeria was the worst.

One of their staff was so rude with discriminative. Such a reputed airline shouldn't hire such kind of arrogant attendants.

Horrible flight attendant in back of economy that screamed at me, have already reported to United. Horrible food - for Gluten free, why would you assume the person is vegetarian? I was served some kind of horrible curry bean paste and multiple cold rolls and soggy vegetables with no seasoning... um no!

I was at the airport on time , I checked in my luggage . The plane was delayed and the gate was change. The flight board did not give information . I did not get chance to fly. I am going to make a claim for it

Never flown with LH before so all in all wasba good experience. Also good to know that approx 24hrs prior the flight opens up for being able to organise the seating free.

It was a short flight, no real service (which is okay). Very bumpy because of weather.

I'm Canaadian. I hate Air Canada. I used to give them a pass on their international service. No longer, They suck across the board now! Old planes, exhausted staff bad food and shitty entertainment. Your seats need reupholstered! Start with that...

Good experience. Food was great and passengers helped rearrange seats so our family could be seated together

Great flight. Left on time, not very crowded. Quiet and the right temperature.

No eye patches , socks given out for overnight flight! The snack on the short haul was a cube of chocolate! The seat was uncomfortable for a long haul - not enough cushioning!

Overall good experience with boarding, and food. No entertainment was provided from Frankfurt to Delhi, that could have been better

I always like to travel with Discover Airlines because of their extraordinary services, comfort, and feel safe.

Very good, everything went straight forward, boarding, during the flight, landing and all on time Well done

flight delayed, no information given until late on, Ryanair app said "on time" until 5 minutes before expected departure time, crew rushed us to board, when it was already 3 hours late

I got denied boarding bevause they said they "ran out of seats on a plane"

Speakers were blaring. It's like being in a Moroccan market and you keep getting shouted at with what's for sale

What can you say Ryanair get you there,no frills Not so cheap anymore ..... but what is now days! Would use again as always. Good flight times for us.

Very unpleasant staff, disgusting service, ignoring requests, refusal to help

Late again rude staff at gate bullying passengers made us stand in the cold 3degrees for 40 mins before they let us board

The usual average Ryanair flight, but we landed 20 min before due time, which was very good.

Enjoyed our flight with Ryanair to Arrecife. Flight boarded pretty much on time, crew were welcoming and very good. Generally good for a frequent low cost flight, Seats could however have been more comfortable.

I wouldn't like to fly with them anymore, I don't like their service, you can hardly take carry-on luggage because they charge you for everything, you can't ask for a glass of water, and the flight attendant tells you that they don't have any, that you have to Paying 3 euros for a bottle of water horrible, I don't recommend it, and they don't have anything low cost, because the plane ticket may not be expensive but what they charge you later for the rest, the flight becomes more expensive, it's the only airline that I don't like it so far, and I traveled a lot.

After the flight. Waiting to long to get off the plane

Very very very…… uncomfortable seats /does nor reclain/ and so little space /this was 5:30 hours flight- and quite expensive no longer low cost airline/ 5:30 hours flight and no water or snacks was offered anly very expensive sales.

Was denied to enter the previous plane so couldnt make it to this one

Got rejected to enter the plane because i took calming pills. Im scared of flying and i always take it since 12 years and it was never a problem with other airlines.

Shambolic boarding with ZERO information on why there was a delay. Don't treat customers like sheep. Crew good. Aircraft new. Late departure with minimal information from flight deck.

The flight was 1.30 hour late because of the Police checking 4 passengers. This was not Ryanair fault but was quite ennoying.

The boarding process was fast Uncomfortable seats ,do not recline.

My fligh was suddenly canceled and no ine approached me The web response was the only one and it was poor and not satisfactory Wizz did not take care for moving me and my family to another flight instead and simply gave us back the flight credits which i cant do nothing with !!

The crew was not very friendly or did not seem like very approachable. The plane was quite dirty and it didn’t sound too good when landing.

Our flight was delayed by over 6 hours. We then had to deplane, stay overnight in a hotel then fly out the next day, 23 hours late.

I would have preferred something lighter for the second meal. Maybe a small sandwich .

They cancelled our flight the morning of departure at 4:30am.

Flight bumpy but good. 1 hr 20 mins for luggage not so good.

We were told to check our bags at the last minute, and the communication was poor.

Lost our luggage in Heathrow. Showed up 3 days into a 7 day vacation. Very inconvenient and disappointing!!

My luggage never arrived to Zurich. They can't confirm when it will arrive

Late again. 3 out of 4 late. One cancelled flight and one lost bag.

Charged an extra 65 pounds for overweight suitcase, Not told how much overweight but had no choice but to pay the price. Compare to Delta Airlines where I flew internationally a few days before with this suitcase and no extra charge by Delta. Comfort was horrible. I am just under 6 feet tall, and good that the flight was only 1 1/2 hours, because my knees were in the seat back in front of me the whole flight. I felt that my knees were part way up to my chest. No reason to have the seats that close. I will say to the positive was the flight crew, very friendly and efficient.

The flight was delayed as they were waiting on catering. Catering. Was eventually delivered but they still had no food. No meals for us in business class - just a bag of nuts.
