-Salesman committed fraud stating insurance was $40 for the duration when it was closer to $50 a day -Salesman committed fraud by implying my insurance does not cover rentals (he's acting inappropriately by hinting knowledge of my personal life....my insurance is not public....and it does cover rentals thankfully....but crossing that customer/business veil is inappropriate conduct and edging on safety concerns... -No handicap accessibility concerns, I am disabled, their disabled stall was closed but when I asked they said it was working, having me walk around the building in pain with my cane to find out it's broken. Not handicap friendly -They did not reserve us the Toyota we requested instead substituting for a Charger GT which consumes more gas and is more inconvenient to park than a smaller Toyota, this business tactic may have been done to increase my chances of scratching the car as I not being used to driving it may be likely to make a scratch or, they may have wanted us to forget about all their surcharges once we filled the GT for $120 then their little fraudulent surcharges seem small in comparison...sunken cost fallacy...disgraceful company...

We were lucky the front desk was empty at our arrival so it was quick. They looked at our car insurance and confirmed we didn’t need their insurance. The car was clean. But if you rent baby seats, they are more expensive s than the rental itself.

We are very desappointed because we did not pay the price we booked (about +50%) because there were lots of additionnal charges like the mandotory assurance (we didn’t know we needed to proove that we had a personnal assurance, if so, we should asked a proof to our insurrance to avoid the additionnal charges), a deposit of 2000$ and we were charged because we paid it by card, the car was old with lots of miles and they told us we were not allowed to drive 200miles away from New Orleans. Hopefully our trip was next New Orleans, but if you want to make a road trip it’s a problem. The last, but not least you can read on the door office that the price can change depending on the customer ! I really don’t recommand this Rental.

There was an issue with the usual check in due to tech problems, Your customer service team still worked diligently to check us in the old way and we were held up only 35 minutes instead of an estimated hour. The staff was friendly with both check in and return.

Not much. The staff at the second location I had to take a taxi to in order to find my rental car was moldy understanding that the other office was atrocious in the way they dealt with me as a customer

Cons:

I was forced to take a taxi to multiple location after I called a number on a locked door at 1200pm at the first location and was told by an employee that he didn’t plan on coming that day and I should find another europcar location in Abu Dhabi. Terrible customer service and cost me more money to travel to another location that did not have available cars as the person on the phone had promised. Overall the pick up process was over 2.5 hours.

Dollar Rent A Car did NOT honor my reservation. They claimed that I should have received a cancellation notice, yet, over 90 minutes AFTER my scheduled pickup time, my booking status remained "confirmed" in your system. This is outrageous. You have wasted both my time and my money. I will require an immediate refund of whatever charges you have made to my credit card as well as a credit for AED 120 in order to refund wasted taxi fares to and from the airport. I could not be me more disappointed in your service or lack thereof. I would recommend that you not disappoint me further by ignoring this demand. Sincerely, Matthew Sumner

Cons:

They charged AED 25 in parking fee which was not included or mentioned anywhere when I made the booking. Picked up and dropped the car back into their garage and paid parking fee. Not at all justified.

Everything was good, except the pick-up was disaster, it took from me almost 45 min to finish my procees with them at Hertz Abu Dhabi office, they took very long time with each client, and there was an employee there totally unprofessional (his name is Zia).

It was the worst experience renting a car. First, the advertised price is a scam anfter adding insurance, the price doubles. I booked a standard car, only to discover that it is a Chinese car, which I do not prefer to drive, and there are no other options. Third, the down payment amount which is 2000 AED which is the highest among the companies. Especially since the car is not a luxury class. Fourthly, and most importantly, they refused to hand me the car because the credit card is in my wife’s name, despite me entering the PIN and using the same card to rent a car from them previously, and they told we will cancel the booking for free and refund your money which didn’t happen till now, they cost me 120 AED to take a taxi back and forth.

Pros:

Not much. Easier than renting from DXB, but that's really more of a credit to Abu Dhabi's airport than anything Avis.

Cons:

They called a hatchback an "SUV". It was tiny and had over 30K km on it so it didn't drive very well. Additionally at drop off the traffic made me 30 mins late and they charged me a FULL day! Not even an hourly rate or anything. Absurd. Customer service was very poor both at pickup & dropoff. Never again Avis, never again.

The car they gave me had a whistle sound while breaking this means that the brake pads and rotorsee needs to be changed. That's a safety issues and this won't make me rent a car with avis again. My reservation number was #09681320US5
