Rodney Bay is situated on the northwest coast of Saint Lucia, which is a small island nation located in the eastern Caribbean just south of Martinique. Rodney Bay is named after George Brydges Rodney, who was a naval officer that led several missions for Great Britain during the 18th Century. The picturesque bay is also known as being the place frequented by pirates centuries ago, and is home to the "Unicorn", which was a ship featured in the well-known film "Pirates of the Caribbean".

Although the conditions in Saint Lucia are rather warm and pleasant, there are some things to consider before booking Rodney Bay holidays. The region's driest period typically extends from December through March, and the average temperatures during this time are around 81°F (27°C). During the summer months the temperatures hover around 85°F (29°C). Keep in mind however, that most tourists visit Rodney Bay during the winter time, so flights and hotel prices will be more expensive during this period. It's also important to remember that hurricane season falls between June and October, when heading to Saint Lucia during those months, bad weather could occur. Since Rodney Bay and Saint Lucia are popular destinations, there are two airports which offer frequent flights to the island.

In addition to Rodney Bay's famous Reduit Beach, there are plenty of tourist attractions and activities to enjoy. Holidaymakers can explore the bay by booking sightseeing trips aboard the aforementioned "Unicorn" and other similar ships. Alternatively they can go diving, kiteboarding or horseback riding along the shore.

In addition, Rodney Bay is home to the Treasure Bay Casino and Bay Walk Mall, which have several restaurants, nightclubs and bars on offer. Pigeon Island National Park with its stunning coral reef is also located close by, as are the historic Fort Rodney ruins.
