Although Rhodes' climate is such that the island can be enjoyed year-round, most holidaymakers choose to make the four hour flight from the the UK in the summer as this when temperatures are at their highest. Rain is almost unheard of in the summer, especially in the months of July and August which average just 0.1mm of precipitation each. A boat trip to the island of Symi is an absolute must as the narrow streets and Venetian style buildings look like something straight out of a fairytale. The enchanting city of Rhodes Town, with its medieval walls, cobbled paths, bustling tavernas and charming cafes is also well worth a visit.
