The most obvious landing point for Lake Buena Vista holidays is that of Orlando International Airport about 20 miles from Lake Buena. Visitors staying at the Disney World Resort can reach Lake Buena Vista via Disney's free Magical Express transport from the airport. Note that Florida is five hours behind GMT. As most of Lake Buena Vista's annual rainfall is in the summer months spring or fall could be better times to visit.

The theme parks of the Disney World Resort dominate Lake Buena Vista. The Magic Kingdom is the main park dedicated to Disney's unforgettable films and characters. The park includes the Snow White Cinderella Castle and a range of Disney themed rides such as the Space Mountain rollercoaster. Epcot is a science theme park and is represented by the Spaceship Earth sphere. Disney's Hollywood Studios is a park themed around film and TV.
