They wouldn’t let me rent a car. My cc was compromised and even though I had 2 forms of government ID, a credit card with my name on it, 2 credit cards in Apple Pay, and my husbands credit card, they wouldn’t let me rent the car because the only physical card I had with my name on it I wasn’t able to use because the bank deactivated it for security concerns and mailed me a new one. Enterprise was not nice about it and I was stranded at the airport as I was needing to get to Maine.

Associates and staff were awesome. Problem was with the car. 1) There were numbers written with marker paint on windows that they didn’t take off, 2) there were wipes, a bottle and chip bag left in front passenger seat, 3) the car smelled like cigarettes smoke and 4) the left back tired air pressure was low they warning alerts were on the whole time in car until I pumped it before returning. The associate said that it’s possible due to weather and I took her word for it. She did offer to have the other staff to take a look but at that point, we were already at the gate and about to head out. Drove from Boston to Worcester with the air pressure warning the whole time in the rain and on the highway. Thank goodness no problems at all.

Pickup was a nightmare. My flight arrived at 3:30pm. I wasn’t on the road with a car until after 4:45. That’s >75 minutes! And I followed their instructions for fast pickup or it would have been longer. Also they gave a spiel about MA law saying Hertz would charge us hundreds per day if their car was in an accident and insurance won’t cover it, basically forcing us to get extra insurance and doubling the price. We wanted to go to eastern CT. Never flying into Boston again. Besides that it was good: nice car, clean, easy drop-off.

I showed up with a prepaid reservation, ID and forms of payment, and even went to the trouble of checking in online. I spent 2:30 hours in front of the counter and on hold with Hertz customer support before we finally figured out the issue their system was having and got me my car. It was an absolute nightmare. Never again.

I had to go to the counter to pick up the car. The women behind the counter talked me into the full option. I wasn’t paying attention as we were ready to get going but on top of the prepaid rental they added the fuel plus $100 in fees. Then at drop off there was no one around and the line at the counter to speak to an agent was too long as we need to catch our flight.

We made a small mistake on the app when requesting the rental. We put pick up and drop off as the same location. In order to change the rental we paid $160 MORE for the rental. We didn’t have a choice as we were in an emergency situation and not many places with cars left.

The check in line was long with very few agents to check people in at peak time. I was given a car that was clean, but didn’t feel safe to drive (whole car shook when braking, accelerating was a task). The agent told me there was fuel “nearby” so I opted to prepay for a tank to avoid driving around or getting lost, however upon return “nearby” actually meant right next to/in the rental car area. Had I known this, I’d have spent $20 filling my half tank versus $75 for their full tank. That’s a bit of a scam.

I would not recommend using budget rental at Logan. Take 30 min to get shuttle (rental counter not at airport). Shuttle was full and barely room to get on. Spent 45 min in line for counter to get the car contract. Was hoping that was it but NO, 30 min wait to get car in 3rd line in the parking garage. Then was another 15 min to get out of garage because lines at the exit. Time from luggage to actually having car and out of Logan was TWO HOURS. I don’t know who owns Budget, but they should be REQUIRED to test their process from beginning to end. This process was not built to be customer friendly and guess it’s what to expect when same company owns all the rental car companies and no real competition.

I accidentally rented an electric car… in thrifts defense I did not read the description before I purchased. It wasn’t until I was 30m away from the airport that I realized. Took forever to charge the car. The car only had 200mi on it to empty when I rented it. Also did not interact with anyone to get the car it was all online, turned in the keys to a human but that’s it.

Wildly inconvenient. I was given an electric rental that was not fully charged. I spent much of my vacation frantically looking for chargers to get it charged and wasted time I had planned for visiting instead on waiting for a rental car to charge. There should be warning or pop up pr some kind of instructions to renter that they are receiving a fully electric car so they know ahead of time and can swap if need be.

Customer service was great! The only problems were the price doubling form the first quote, and now a $78 toll charge. I did go through some tolls, but certainly not $78 worth. Ended up being WAY more expensive than I planned.
