Calafia Airlines is a regional scale Mexican carrier that aims to service the Baja California Peninsula. One of the most popular options for travelers heading south for some warmth, many destinations can be found on either side of the Gulf of California. It also flies close to the United States’ border, offering cheaper international travel for those wishing to cross via air.
Operating a small fleet, they use Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer. The EMB 120ER and ERJ 145ER are their preferred models, which hold a range of 30 to 50 passengers. A small and quiet flight is ensured every time you fly with Calafia Airlines, with shorter security processing and loading times.
Pets can be brought on flights if you are looking to take your companion with you. The airline will ensure you receive priority boarding and quick ramp handling; however, documentation, permits and caging are the responsibility of the customer. Most common dogs and cats are allowed to board the plane; however, certain breeds such as bulldogs, pugs, mastiffs and boxers are prohibited.
All passengers traveling with Calafia Airlines are seated within the same Economy section. All ticket fare options allow customers to bring a carry-on bag weighing up to 11 lb, while flexible rates provide the ability to change the name of passengers should an alteration be needed. Oversized items such as golf clubs, surfboards, guitars, bicycles and fishing rods can be brought onboard. However, service fees will be applied. Transport items such as wheelchairs and baby strollers will incur no extra fee.
